This autumn I was chosen as a winner of the 2014 IdeasTap Inspires Writers’ Centre Norwich Creative Writing Competition, a 6-month mentoring scheme for budding fiction writers under 30. Part of the prize includes a 4-day writing retreat in Norwich so tomorrow I am off to the City of Literature to meet writers, agents, story lovers, and an improvised cast of East Anglian characters (I always have the greatest conversations with strangers in this city, my favorite of which was an un-solicited lesson in yogic breathing from an elderly Indian gentleman on the bus).
“He Took His Skin Off For Me” has now been accepted into roughly 14 film festivals, with more likely to come. The full list can be found on the website: http://hetookhisskinoffforme.com/.
I am so thrilled this film is finally getting out there and I can’t wait to share it with you all. Follow the film’s page to keep up to date with screening locations and dates – this baby’s gonna travel the world.
If you have a Kindle, you can start reading this amazing anthology right now. My short story “Open House” and seventeen other stories were chosen from hundreds of submissions to represent the best fiction Ohio has to offer. Presented by the Columbus Creative Cooperation, this anthology is the first of its kind. Download on Amazon now, or get yourself a paperback copy.
Very proud to be a best of Ohio writer.
Very honored to share with you the video of my short story “The Curse” performed at Liars’ League Hong Kong.

This Thursday, September 12th I will be joining four other novelists at the first ever Books Talk Back, a new literary event in West London. It’s unique from other literary readings in that this evening is interactive and promotes conversation between writers and their audience. Find us in The Rose & Crown in Ealing from 6pm on.
